The Top 10 of Top 10 lists

I've decided to help people in their web hosting journey, and I would first like to start out by giving everyone the opportunity to choose the best. The following is the ultimate of top 10 lists as it contains the top 10 of top 10 lists in the hosting world. On these sites you can find the best hosts in regular web hosting, VPS hosting, and dedicated server hosting.

1. Cheap Hosting Solutions

This site is among my favorite as it contains an entire page of details for each host that they review. The layout seems to be very professionally done and the ratings seem to be very accurate in my opinion.

I previously had Powweb and I agree that they should be listed on top. It is interesting to see that no other top 10 list has included them. It is not even a fair competition between Powweb and some of these other companies; they offer by far much more space and bandwidth then anyone else. Many of the other Top 10 lists are not updated frequently so they show Midphase being on the bottom of their lists with their old package. Recently Midphase skyrocketed their plan up to a level that beats all of the competition. I noticed that Cheap Hosting Solutions updated their site almost instantaneously after Midphase upgraded. I also greatly like how they only include the most well respected hosts, which is something that is hard to find among top 10 lists. Among the hosts listed I am partial to their top 3 which currently is Powweb, Midphase, and StartLogic. I personally guarantee that all of these three hosting companies deliver the best bang for your buck while providing the reliability, space, and bandwidth that we all need.

The front page really shows a simple apples-to-apples overview of space vs. price vs. bandwidth that all of us want to see. The details page covers everything from price, reliability, performance, customer support, control panel, user rating, and an overall rating which seems to average the ratings of all categories. Overall, I find this site to be the most informative of all, exceptionally well designed, and generally an excellent resource. I give it a 9.8/10.

2. Top 10 Web Hosting

Top 10 Web Hosting is a decently appealing website that offers complex reviews on each host. Although, despite the positives of Top 10 Web Hosting there are a good deal of negatives associated with it. It is obvious that the site is not frequently updates because some of the plans are not current. Also, the last plan "Host Gator" is included and it really doesn't even belong on a top 10 list. It seems as if it was put there just to end the list. I give it an 8.9/10.

3. Hosting Review

This site includes some great hosts, but in my opinion, they lose a lot of credibility for including Yahoo hosting. It is not very reliable, does not include much space or bandwidth, and it is expensive. The reviews actually tend to give too much information, it’s just too verbose to have to cut through all of the info given per host. A little bit too much fluff seems to be present. I give it a 8.5/10.

4. Host Critique

Host Critique is a decently aesthetically pleasing website that provides reviews for a number of good, reputable hosts. I completely disagree with the way in which they list Bluehost at the top of their list and rate it to be perfect. Also, their reviews, while providing lots of information is formatted in such a way that it is difficult to focus on and read. I give it an 8.2/10.

5. Web Hosting Inspector

Although not all of the reviews are written and complete, this site provides more information than most. I completely disagree with their top ranking though. Ipower should not be listed as the top on any list. Many other hosts are cheaper and offer more space and bandwidth. I give it a 7.5/10.

6. Web Hosting Bluebook

This website is really mixed about hosts, it provides some that are reputable and some that are not. Regardless it gives quite a little bit of information about each one. I give it a 7.0/10.

7. Host Index

Host Index provides a moderate amount of information about a few various hosts. Some of these hosts are overpriced and do not offer enough space nor bandwidth. The site is not very good looking, and the animated images are annoying. I give it a 6.2/10.

8. Web Hosting Top 10

This rating site lists different sites out by percentage. The site appears as if it is not updated regularly, as the packages are out of date. The information presented is decent, but no complex reviews are given. I give it a 6.0/10.

9. Cheap Hosting Directory

Provides a decent deal of information, but it is annoying to look at with all of the animated imagery. This hosting directory provides some good to know stats, but nothing spectacular. I give it a 5.5/10.

10. Hosting Report

The site is not incredibly visually appealing, but nonetheless it offers a basic comparison. Some of the better hosts are included, but at the same time some of the not so great hosts are included as well. The stats are somewhat minimal and it forces you to go off on your own and explore each host to find out more. I give it a 4.9/10.
